![]() Armed with her outfit and jewellery, we set about creating a bridal look. In her, I saw delicate features, teamed with the cut of her blouse and style of her jewellery, I set about creating a 60s Bollywood Bride...one that just walked out of the TV screen and into my make up room! I flicked up her eyeliner instead of winging it out and I kept her base light and shine free but still dewy I lined the lower lashes heavier at the lower out corners and tapered them in a little and contoured the line upwards from the sides of her nose and outwards reaching into just above the crease on her eyes to give her that particular look I was going for. Of course a medium light lip, pigmented and creamy ...not glossy in a pink neutral to finish it off. I worked with gold tones on one eye and red tones on the other eye to allow her to see what suits more...... I was booked on the spot! ![]() Naturally, Hetal being Hetal, had her own ideas. She emailed me a picture of a smokey matte black eye with a brick eyeshadow in the crease and shimmer in the middle of the eyelid. The model was looking up and I invited Hetal back for a free retrial. I explained that the model was looking upwards and so looked great but when looking down, it would be way too heavy for a bridal look. She also had decided that the red eyeshadow was not what she wanted from the previous trial and that the brick brown eyeshadow in the picture she sent would have the same effect. We tried one eye exactly and one eye modified with black, and deep browns with gold. She agreed that the brick did not suit but that she loved the one I created for her. At the first trial she wanted a updo. I had suggested having an updo with side curls. We agreed on a brushed straight up quiff with curls coming down the side. The wedding day was a gloriously hot day. I arrived at the Mercure Hotel in Watford and greeting by a very relaxed Hetal. I could see that her outfit and accessories were organised just as I had asked and the room was well lit. We chatted and I lovingly got her ready. There was real pressure as I was also booked by Hetal to get her Mother in Law and Masi (in law) and Mum ready. It's always really special spending the last few moments with a bride before they make their final journey as a single woman. I always feel that the brides Mum should be in my place and I always get very tearful at this moment. I went to the Mother in Law's room and felt their excitement at gaining the daughter in law they already had...if that makes any sense! It was strange too as I knew exactly how she looked and they were so excited to see her. I wish Hetal all the very best for her future married life and can't wait to her all her future news x
